EFCLIN 2016 Review

The EFCLIN conference grows in size and importance every year and this, the 43rd year, exceeded expectations with over 300 delegates from around the globe attending the event in Valencia, Spain.

24 exhibitors crowded the exhibition space, with 50 representatives of the various companies manning the booths.

An impressive line-up of speakers filled the two lecture halls, whilst the meeting areas and booths were crowded with individual meetings between customers, suppliers and potential partners for the duration of the congress.

Contamac, once again, was proud to be a Platinum Sponsor and this year brought the largest team ever to the meeting, with 13 members of the company attending the conference under the message “A Trusted Partner”.

Heads of R&D, Technical Services and Professional Services were there to support the entire Sales Team, as well as members of the Board to meet customers old and new.

Contamac provided two speakers this year, Dr Richard Young, head of Research and Development, who described Contamac’s commitment to innovation following the receiving of a second Queen’s Award for Enterprise and Simon Wyatt, Director of the Surgical Division of Contamac, who spoke of the importance of knowing your supplier and having confidence in their compliance and quality assurance procedures.

Although originally a meeting for contact lens manufacturers, IOLs have become a growing feature of the show over the past few years. Contamac’s IOL Division launched the ErgoTouch delivery system, which offers the surgeon a more manageable and controllable delivery system for both hydrophilic and hydrophobic IOLs.

We extend a warm thanks to all of our customers for keeping us busy during the whole of the congress, we enjoyed your company and appreciate your loyalty and feedback.
